Headwaters NanoKinetix, Inc. (HNI) has introduced NxCat™ technology which allows catalysts to be designed and engineered at the atomic scale to achieve higher performance and in some cases “Green Chemistry” (highly selective catalytic processes with no waste or byproducts). NxCat™ catalysts and technology can be used in: chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing; fuel cells; NOx and VOC emissions reduction; water treatment/remediation; fillers and coatings; precious metal catalyst regeneration and other applications.

HNI, a wholly owned subsidiary of Headwaters Technology Innovation Group, Inc. (HTIG), was established to develop and commercialize business opportunities around the NxCat technology platform.  To accelerate this effort, HNI is developing strategic partnerships with major chemical companies, process technology providers and catalyst manufacturers.  For example, HNI is working with leading US and European engineering and chemical companies on the commercialization of direct synthesis of hydrogen peroxide based on NxCat catalyst and with the Dalian Institute, a leading Chinese national laboratory, on the development and commercialization of high performance electrocatalysts for fuel cells based on NxCat catalyst technology.

Research and development work is conducted at the company’s R&D Center located in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, seven miles from Princeton, on the Route 1 Research Corridor. HNI’s technology team includes some of the world’s leading innovators in nanocatalysis.
